UK Youth Development League U15s U13s M2, 20th May 2017, Report & Results

Croydon Harriers’ young athletes team kept their promotion hopes alive in the UK Youth Development League with a third place finish in their latest Southern Premier 2 clash at Chelmsford.
Tyvonn Inniss and Louis Smithen secured maximum points in the Under 15 boy’s 100m, winning the A and B events. Inniss joined Damani Mauge to replicate that feat in the 200m. The trio combined with Kwame Tomlin to win the 4x100m in 46.8secs.

In the Under 15 girls 100m, Toni Bryan took the spoils in 12.7secs, and her younger compatriot Christabel Alponsah enjoyed similar success in the Under 13 girl’s event. Lia Bonsu was victorious in the Under 13 girl’s 70m hurdles.

In the pick of the middle-distance events, Chukwu Nkamuo won the Under 13 boy’s 800m and Imran Salim triumphed in the 1500m.

On the field, Ethon Phillips maintained his 100% record in the Under 13 boy’s shot putt, winning in 9.54m.

The result leaves Croydon in 2nd overall with two matches remaining. The top two clubs are promoted to the top flight.
