Three medals at the 2026 SEAA Champs
Three Croydon Harriers brought home medals from the South of England Athletics Championships at Bedford last weekend.
On the field Cerys Aboagye threw 13.26m in the shot putt to finish runner-up in the women’s shot putt. Jesse Agyemang led the Croydon charge in the men’s 100m securing a bronze medal in 10.69secs, while an embattled Sean Leahy would notch bronze in the U18M 3000m in a closely fought sprint finish.
Four Croydon athletes would finish fourth in their finals, narrowly missing out on the podium. Lia Bonsu would secure a personal best in the women’s 100m hurdles clocking 13.53secs, the third fastest all-time performance in the event in club history. Training partner Ziona Ofori would finish in the same position in the U20 Women’s 400m final, just a second outside of the podium places.
Further fourth places came courtesy of long jumper Paul Ogun would leap to 6.74m in his final, while also on the field Evelyn Bosoko would throw 36.42m in the hammer final to match that feat.
In the women’s 100m heats, Cheyanne Evans-Gray clocked 11.40secs to move to the top 10 of the British rankings for the season. The lifetime best is also the fourth fastest time in the club’s history.
