Surrey Mens XC League M4 18/19, Lloyd Park, Results and Report, 9/2/19
At Lloyd Park, Croydon Harrier’s men’s squad beat the drop in the Surrey Cross Country League, finishing 4th to stay afloat in the 2nd division.
Peter Chambers made a triumphant return to the league, winning the 5 mile race in 27 minutes and 43 seconds. It’s his fifth Surrey League men’s race win.
He was backed up by David White (14th), Josh Haasz (16th) and Julian Forbes (22nd). There were further dogged performances from Alex Penfold (59th), John Millington (62nd), Alan Burn (2nd M50), David Brown (83rd), Patrick Lucas (93rd) and Kartik Iyer (102nd) completed the scoring ten. Burn scooped the M50 league prize for the division. Will Tupman led the B team home to sixth out of the nine clubs, with a further 12 Harriers in action. Colin Oxlade was 2nd M60

The nine-strong boys team were led home by Matt Maginn in 18th in the 122-strong field. He was well supported by Nick Marshall (38th), Isaac Flanagan (39th) and Adam Shew (68th). The boys team would finish 6th on the day, and 7th overall in the 15 club league. Ebuka Nkamuo, Samuel Mowa, Imran Salim, Douglas Aikman and Jonathan Long were also in action.
