Results round-up 16-19th April ’26
Croydon Harriers’ hurdlers brought home seven medals from the Surrey Championships on Saturday at Kingston.
Lia Bonsu would win the women’s 100m hurdles in 14 seconds flat, while Ethan Cort would also top the podium in the U20 men’s event. Three silver medals came courtesy of Elisha Court (U14 Boys 80m hurdles), Ama Amiaka (U18 Women’s 100m hurdles) and Ebony Rose-Donkor (U16 80m hurdles).
Micah St.James won a bronze in the U16 Boys 100m hurdles, while Ada Amiaka matched that feat in the U18W triple jump.
At the UK Youth League at Crawley, the Croydon Harriers U18s and U20s squad finished a provisional third out of the six competing teams in the season’s opening first division contest.
In road running action, Ashley George broke the three hour mark for marathon for the first time, clocking 2:57:07 to finish 209th. Meanwhile at Manchester Tina Saunders achieved a lifetime of 3:46:54.
Nine Croydon athletes completed the Sutton 10K in the second Surrey Road League event of the season. Peter Chambers led home the contingent in third in the 386-strong field.
At the East Surrey League road race, Sean Leahy would finish third in the young athletes race narrowly in front of training partner Ernesto Kelly, to wrap up the U18 Men’s title. In the senior race, Douglas Aikman would finish 8th and two days later would place first at Crystal Palace parkrun. Elsewhere in parkrun action, Madeleine Armstrong-Plieth topped the women’s standings at Sutcliffe Park.
