Holly XC Run, Reigate, 16th Dec 2018, Results and Report

Croydon Harriers enjoyed their best ever showing at the Holly Run cross-country races at Reigate on Sunday, winning both the men’s and women’s team races.

Jessica Moore triumphed in the women’s race completing the 4 mile course in 28:15 nearly a minute clear of her nearest challenger. Madeleine Armstrong was 4th in the race, while women’s track captain Jules Del Nevo completed the scoring trio in 14th to ensure a Croydon win.

The men’s solid packing paid in the six-mile race, with the trio of Josh Haasz (8th), David White (10th) and Julian Forbes (11th) ensuring they scooped the team prize. James Moore and Andy Del Nevo provided non-scoring support.

The Under 17 men’s trio of Luke and Dan Hill, and Jonathan Long picked up team silver. Ebuka and Chizoba Nkamou were 6th and 8th in the Under 15 boys race, while Jana Sethna-McIntosh (19th, Under 13 Girls) and Euan Chan (35th, Under 11 Boys) kept the club flag flying in the younger age groups.

There were two team medals for the Under 15 girls squads who picked up team silver and bronze. Leanne Moore was the first Croydon home, backed up by Kyra Sethna-McIntosh and Jenna Hooper to secure team silver. Alica Maingay, Gulcin and Tugce Erten rallied for bronze.

Antara Singh was 6th in the Under 17 women’s race.

In Parkrun action, Alex Penfold and Ben Savill was 1st home at Eastville and East Brighton respectively.
