Gold for Fabusiwa at the England Indoor Championships

Croydon Harrier sprinter Farrell Fabusiwa struck gold at the England Indoor Championships in Sheffield on Sunday.

Fabusiwa clinched the Under 20 men’s 200m title breaking the 21-second barrier for the first time in the final, clocking 20.95secs to secure the title. He will be joining fellow Croydon Harrier and European 100m bronze medallist Romell Glave in the British Championships in Birmingham this weekend (14th-15th February).

Another Croydon medal came courtesy of Shivelle Marshall, who notched a new lifetime best of 7.51secs in the Under 17 women’s 60m to bag a podium finish.

A further nine Croydon athletes were in action in Sheffield, with high jumper Tunrore Adeniji leading the way on the field finishing 9th in the U20 men’s high jump final.

There were semi-final appearances for Michael Somade and Jayden Atta-Fynn in the U20 men’s 60m, while Trey Lindsay would narrowly miss out on a place in the Under 15 boys 200m final by 0.04secs.

Further club representation was found in Ethan Cort (19th, U20M 60m Hurdles), Anjelho Macabee-Rose (21st, U17M 200m), Inessa-Renee Atta-Fynn (41st, U20W 60m), Gabby Reid (42nd, U17W 60m), Kaiya Ashitey (42nd, U20W 60m).
