England Indoor Bronze for Bonsu
Croydon Harrier Lia Bonsu won bronze in the Under 20 women’s sprint hurdles at the England Indoor Championships in Sheffield last weekend.
Bonsu secured a new lifetime best of 8.45secs to make the podium in the 60m hurdles event. She joined nine other Croydon athletes who were in action against the country’s best athletes.
There were two fourth place finishes for fellow Croydon athletes, with Farrell Fabusiwa finishing fourth in the under 17 men’s 200m in 22.04s and Shivelle Marshall matching that feat in the Under 15 girls 60m.
Amari Donkor had a busy weekend, competing in the Under 17 men’s 60m and 200m, reaching the semi-finals of both disciplines. Henry Thomas and Amari-Jai Anderson would reach the semi-finals of the Under 20 men’s 60m.
Ama Amiaka (U17W 60m hurdles), Casielle Murray (U15G 60m), Ethan Cort and N’Ziah Burrell (both U17M 60m) were also in action for Croydon.
