East Surrey XC Race M2, 9th December 2017, Results and Report

Croydon Harriers enjoyed two individual wins at the East Surrey League at Wimbledon Common. Lisa Harris won the five mile women’s race by over a minute in 32 minutes and eight seconds. She was supported by Miriam De Souza and Jules Williams with the squad finishing runners-up.

James Moore led the men home, crossing the line in 44th, with solid support from Colin Oxlade (49th), Dan Barnes (52nd) and Andy Del Nevo (54th). They would finish 11th in the team standings in a competitive field.

In the young athletes race, Croydon’s boys put themselves in pole position to win the league’s team title, with Robbie Tambling first home over the 2.5mile course. Soul Hallums was one place further back and Zachary Blair was the clubs fourth counter in 13th. The B team comprised of Imran Salim (14th), Douglas Aikman (20th), Ebuka (28th) and Chizoba Nkamou (36th), and they would place sixth in the team standings.

In the girl’s race, Kyra Sethna-McIntosh was 4th home and was supported by Jenna Hooper (5th Under 13 Girl), Leanne Moore (9th) and Holly Perks (10th Under 13 Girl). The team finished fourth overall, with non-scoring support from Jana Sethna-McIntosh.
