East Surrey Road Race, 5th April 2018, Results and Report

At the East Surrey Road Race at Ewell, Soul Hallums claimed a dramatic win in the young athlete’s race in a photo finish. The 15 year-old Shirley pupil claimed victory on the line, completing the 2.1 mile course in 12 minutes and 37 seconds. Robbie Tambling clinched the overall Under 17 men’s title finished 8^th, with solid support from Zachary Blair (10^th) and Jonathon Long (19^th). Jessica Moore was the first Croydon girl home in 11^th, while Jenna Hooper was 7^th in the Under 13 girl’s category.

In the men’s race there was excellent packing from Alex Penfold (4^th), Jake English (8^th), Patrick Lucas (9^th) and David White (10^th) to ensure Croydon finished runners-up on the evening. Miriam De Souza and Jules Williams ensured a one-two in the W40 league standings after their performances on the night.
