Croydon Harriers at the 2023 London Marathon
Nine Croydon Harriers took part in the TCS London Marathon on Sunday.
Pat Lucas would be the club’s first finisher in two hours 48 minutes and 33 seconds. He was 1303rd out of the field of over 47,000 competitors. Madeleine Armstrong-Plieth lined up on the Championship startline and clocked 3:18:48 to finish 830th. She was 144th W40. Scott Miller would break the three hour mark in 2:56:08. The trio’s performances earn them good for age qualifying standards for next year’s event..
The rest of the Croydon contingent would be completed by Freddie Harding (3:09:05) ,Terry Lapins (3:29:14), Dan Joyce (3:51:29), Rush Yadave (4:19:17), Rosa Brookes (5:09:06) and Carol Johnson (6:22:14).
A massive shoutout too to former young athlete Ellie McCormack who finishing in 4:19 having done the Mini Marathon in 2012.
Andy and Jules Del Nevo volunteered at the event on the startline.
