Croydon Harrier’s young throwers led the way at the Kingston Invitational last weekend, with Christiana Kamdom Kemegne breaking a club record.
Kemegne threw in excess of 42m with her 42.30m effort to comfortably win the Under 17 women’s category. Phoebe Broadhead finished 2nd in the same event with a 37.58m effort. They place 18th and 30th in the national rankings, and are the 1st years in their age group.
Cerys Aboagye had a busy afternoon in the Under 17 women’s field events, finishing third in the shot putt and enjoying a runners-up placing in the discus.

At the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Croydon had two athletes competing in the road race events. Will Lyon Tupman completed the 10k in 41:46 for 67th while Nicola Meheran finished in 21:48 in the 5k for 39th.
There was a season’s best at the Coulsdon Open for Kyra Sethna-McIntosh who ran 2:25.12 for the 800m to finish third in the Under 20 women’s category.
