The newly promoted Croydon Harriers’ boys team enjoyed a winning start to their 1st division Ebbisham Boys League campaign on Sunday with a joint first place finish at Ewell.

On the field, Ifeanyi Davids leapt to 1.55m in the U15 boys high jump to secure victory. Davids earlier helped secure maximum points in the sprint hurdles winning the U15B sprint hurdles, with Isaiah Easy-Riley winning the A. In the U13 boys ranks Micah St James and Cayden Campbell enjoyed similar success.

There was a similar clean sweep in the 100m races with Trey Lindsey and Campbell winning the U13 boys races, while Easy-Riley and Kalvyn Mills triumphed in the U15 boys ranks.

St James, Campbell, Lindsey and Marius Harman would prevail in the U13 boys 4x100m, while Hosea Okunlola, Aidan Searyoh, Easy-Riley and Mills would enjoy similar success in the U15 boys event.

At the Sutton 10K, Croydon enjoyed a strong turnout to the season’s opening Surrey Road League. Dave Brown (15th) and Ben Chapman (16th) led the team home, with Brown picking up a new PB in the process.

Croydon also enjoyed a number of entrants in marathons in Southampton, Brighton and Paris.

In Brighton, second claim member Ben Whyte ran 2:53:51 after an excellent cross country season. New member Tina Saunders would secure a lifetime best of 5:07:38.

At Southampton, David White returned to the marathon fold with a 3:23:08 clocking.

In Paris, Lee Tolentino clocked 3:28:51, Rush Yadave 4:18:50 and Siobhan Garvin 5:17:38.
