Comp round-up 5-7th May ’23

Croydon Harrier’s young athletes team finished a provisional fifth place finish at their UK Youth League  for Under 15s and Under 13s 1st division clash at Bedford on Sunday.

Farrell Fabusiwa would enjoy a double win in the Under 15 boys 100m and 200m, before teaming with Aidan Searyoh, Khailil Thomas-Whilby and Isaiah Easy-Riley to triumph in the 4x100m. 

Teammates Alison Omoregie, Kaiya Ashitey, Kelly Ajayi and Shivelle Marshall nearly matched their feat in the Under 15 Girls ranks but were narrowly edged into 2nd. 

In the Under 13 boys, Kalvyn Mills and Francis Bambury would secure a double 1st in the shot putt, with Mills later combining with Micah St James, Cayden Campbell and Ifeanyi Davids to finish runners-up in the 4x100m. 

Casielle Murray and Saray-Destiny Crosdale led the way in the Under 13 girls events, winning the 150m and 75m disciplines. They would then team up with Gabby Reid and Atarah Watson to secure the win in the 4x100m. 

Nine Croydon athletes took part in the Ranelagh Richmond Half Marathon. Scott Miller was 1st home in 26th (81:16), David Brown (37th, 83:08) and Freddie Harding (52nd, 85:07) were the club’s first finishers. They ensured the men’s team were 7th on the day.

Sunanda Sarker-Bell was 12th W55, James Moore was 14th M50 and Keith Brown was 21st M60. 

Internationally, Matt Stimpson completed the Toronto Marathon in 3:48, while Jessica Moore completed the Ingolstadt Half Marathon in 1:48.26.

37 Croydon Harriers completed parkruns, with 1st places courtesy of Holly Smith (Lloyd Park), Phil Symonds (South Norwood) and Katherina Warren (Royal Bethlem).
