Comp round-up 29-30th Oct ’22
Eight Croydon Harriers took part in the Surrey Masters Cross-Country Championships at Morden on Saturday.
Marcos Palomares-Conde (M45, 16th) led the M40s & 50s squad home, with Jacob Amstrong-Plieth (22nd, M45), James Moore (13th, M50) and Andy Del Nevo (26th M55) completing the contingent.
The M60 team would finish 11th overall thanks to the efforts of Colin Oxade (11th), Keith Brown (42nd) and Norman Hemming (45th). Jules Del Nevo was 15th in the W45 category.
In parkrun action, there were six 1st place overall finishes for Croydon athletes. Alex Penfold (Roundshaw Downs), Douglas Aikman (Footscray) and Glenn Barden (Father Collins, Ireland) all enjoyed first place finishes. Lucy Cole (Roundshaw Downs), Katherina Warren (Evesham) and Jessica Moore (Wöhrder See, Germany) were 1st home in the women’s categories at their events, with 29 Croydon athletes taking part across various events.
