Comp round-up 29/2 – 1/3/20

Over twenty Croydon Harriers took part in parkrun events last weekend. Alex Penfold was first home at Banstead Woods, while Julian Forbes was runner-up in Nidda in Germany. Kyra Sethna-McIntosh was 1st lady at Bethlem Hospital. There was a women’s one-two at Lloyd Park thanks to Leanne Moore and Gulcin Erten. At Crystal Palace was fourth home out of 273 finishers. 21 Croydon Harriers took part in parkrun events in total. 

Latest parkrun results

At the Big Half marathon in London, Henry Butt finished in 1:37:02 to place 1972nd. Nicola Meheran dipped under the 1:50 barrier by 29 seconds to finish 1013th in the women’s category. In the Little Half, Sandie Sarker-Bell was 1st W50 while daughter Jasmine Bell was fourth in the Under 15 girls category.  

In the US, Stevie Lawrence clocked 5:02.78 for one mile at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Michigan while representing Queens Uni. 

At the final Downs League race of the season at Epsom, Alex Giles, Kyron Bailee-Burke, Douglas Aikman and Jana Sethna-McIntosh kept the club flag flying.
