Comp round-up 11-12th Sep ’21
Croydon Harrier Alex Giles picked up a silver at the Surrey Combined Events Champs at Sutton on Saturday.
The 12 year-old notched 1328pts and cleared 1.38m in the high jump for a new lifetime best along the way in the Under 13 boy’s pentathlon. Amber Bloomfield finished fourth in the Under 15 girls event, which included two 2nd place finishes in the shot putt and sprint hurdles.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Jacob Armstrong-Plieth picked up a bronze medal in his first outing over the event.
At the Brighton Marathon, James Nuthall clocked 3:32.30 to finish 477th while Henry Butt was also in action.
34 Croydon Harriers took part in parkruns. There was a 1-2 for Croydon in the ladies category at Lloyd Park thanks to Zoha Jetha and Leanne Moore, while Kyron-Bailee Burke was 1st home at South Norwood. Other top four finishes came courtesy of Anna Corby (2nd, Leazes), Jessica Moore (4th, Dishley), Pat Lucas (4th, Rushcliffe) and Isaac Flanagan (4th, Lloyd Park).
