British Athletics League, Notts, 4th Aug 2018, Results and Report

23 Aug 2018

Croydon Harriers’s men’s team were agonisingly close to staying up in the British Athletics League 4th division on Saturday at Nottingham, but were denied by just five and a half points.

In the first season Croydon have been in the league since 1994, the squad would be ultimately edged out by Derby/Mansfield to a gutsy 4th in the six club fixture.

There were many highlights on the day however and this include Paul Ogun’s double win in the long and triple jump, as well as Emmanuel Thomas triumphing in the pole vault.

The 4x100m men’s team of Harvey Stainthorpe, Israel Ospina, Dylan Da Costa and Matthew Pepper triumphed in 43.17secs

With thanks to everyone who made the trip to Notts and for everyone’s efforts throughout the season. Includes Mark Andrews (who did 28 events this year!!!), Jim Eccles (absolute hero), Rob Spalding, David White, Pat Lucas, Chris Ahouzan, Nile Cook, Chris King, Alex Penfold.

Our first foray into this league since the early 90s! We will reapply and try again next year!
