New members of all ages and abilities are always welcome.  All training sessions are now BOOKED weekly through the club.

Prior to making a first booking, please contact us confirming the age of the athlete and their event preference if they have any. We can then direct you to the most appropriate coach and training group.

Development group on Mondays U10s at 5pm with Coaches Matt & Rob. PRE-BOOKING ONLY – use the form below to be added to the waiting list for details of future blocks.
Young Athlete Development Group: Coach Alan takes all new athletes Aged 10 to 15 at Croydon Arena 5:30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays. Coach Kevin, Josh and Cherry Anne take all new sprinters aged 13 to 16 at Croydon Arena 5:30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Sprint Training with Coach Paul. Ages 10-14 at Croydon Arena 5.30pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays (by selection only). Ages 14-18 – 7pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. (all year-round, break in September).
Sprinters aged 18+ train with Coach Mike Smalley at Croydon Arena, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm (all year-round)
Middle-distance to endurance training with Coach Matthew & Alan. Ages 14 -18 (no upper age limit!), plus adults. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.
Sunday Road Running group – by pre-booking only, use the form below more info.
Pole Vault with Coach Ian, (all year-round, by arrangement with Ian)
High Jump with Coach Mike, 6.30pm Tuesdays & Thursdays (all year-round, by arrangement with Mike).
Throws with Coach Chris, 5.30 Tuesdays & Thursdays (all year-round, by arrangement with Chris).

Mission statement
The purposes of Croydon Harriers are to promote community participation in healthy recreation through the provision of facilities for the sport of athletics in Croydon; and to further such purposes as are charitable according to the laws of England and Wales for the benefit of the public.

Tips for your first session

  • Ensure you’ve emailed us beforehand so we know to look out for you
  • Arrive 15-25 minutes before your first session is due to start for a quick induction
  • Usual sports kit plus a tracksuit is recommended.
  • Bring a water bottle – training is thirsty work!
  • Stay clear of lane one, lots of running sessions are going on at this time so its key to stay safe!
  • Your first session is free.
