A tribute to Tony Finn
By Mike Fleet
Tony proved to be a perfect choice as Croydon Harriers men’s captain 1972-4.
Thanks to his popularity and sense of purpose, the team thrived. He was a worker and achiever and used a persuasive (?) charm with a certain linguistic lilt to get best out of his colleagues!
He ran his best 800m time of 1:56.3 in June 1971 and this still features prominently in the club all time ranking lists.
