Croydon Harrier Romell Glave ran a wind assisted 9.88secs in Savona Italy to win the prestigious Savona International Meeting.
It’s the fourth time the GB international has broken the 10-second barrier in his career and puts him firmly in contention for international selection for the European Championships later this year.
Club teammate Farrell Fabusiwa comfortably ran the World junior championship 200m qualifying time at Stratford, clocking 20.62s to win his heat. It is the fastest time ever run by a Croydon Harrier over the distance.
In the 5000m, a 47 year-old club record finally fell to Dom Nolan who clocked 13:44.18 in Brussels. Meanwhile in the US, Stevie Lawrence lowered her club record for the 3000m steeplechase clocking 9:37.52 for the distance, which is the 11th fastest all-time performance by a British athlete. Also in America, Gabriella Tcheukam threw the U20 discus 47.45m and U20 hammer 49.76m to be ranked 1st and 3rd in the U20 UK rankings.
There have been two UK Youth Development League victories for Croydon squads in recent weeks in the U14/16 and U18/20 age groups, both at Kingston. The teams are top of the league standings in both Southern Division One tables.
In parkrun action, 55 Croydon Harriers took part with first place finishes for Douglas Aikman (South Norwood) and Rob Spalding (Sutcliffe).
