Croydon athletes enjoy inter county XC action

Four Croydon Harrier young athletes represented Surrey on Saturday in the South of England inter county cross-country championships in Greenford.

Zoha Jetha would finish eighth in the Under 20 women’s race, completing the 6km course in 23:27. Ernesto Kelly placed 30th in a high quality Under 17 men’s field, while Sean Leahy bravely battled home to 93rd despite an early fall. Pietro Kelly would finish 54th in the Under 13 boy’s race on his Surrey debut.

In the Masters races, Madeleine Armstrong-Plieth finished fourth in the W45 race, just eight second shy of the podium. In the M50 race, Marcos Palomares-Conde (21st), Jacob Armstrong-Plieth (22nd) and James Moore (33rd) closed in ensure a 9th place team finish.

In the British Masters 5k road race at Battersea Park, both Colin Oxlade (M65) and Keith Brown (M70) finished 18th in their respective age categories.
