15 in action at the Sutton 10K

At the Sutton 10K, fifteen Croydon Harriers were in action at the season’s opening Surrey Road League fixture. Provisionally the men’s and women’s teams both finished fifth overall in the team standings. 

Ben Whyte was runner-up in 33:29 and was ably supported by David Brown (35:23, PB, 13th), Scott Miller (35:34, 16th) and Ashley George (37:46, 33rd). 

In the women’s race, Madeleine Armstrong-Pleith was 7th and 1st W35, with Zoha Jetha 20th and Ciara Dolby 28th. 

A massive shoutout to Keith Brown and Norman Hemming who competed in this race as the club’s sole entrants in 2004. They both finishing 11th and 15th M65s. Heroes!

46 Croydon runners took part in parkruns on Saturday with first place finishes coming courtesy of Douglas Aikman (Bromley parkrun), Ernesto Kelly (Panania), Madeleine Armstrong-Pleith (Royal Bethlem) and Sean Leahy (Mallow Castle).
